Further afield, friend.

Go the distance.

Summer walks through small towns are one of my favourite activities - finding little shops, wandering down main street, experiencing great food and good company.

A simpler alternative to travelling abroad is exploring your own backyard, and in Canada there are so many gorgeous regions, family restaurants, farmers’ markets, and traditions waiting to be discovered.

Where would I go to stop and smell the roses?

I’ll tell you in Field Notes.

In this three-part series, I take a step beyond the familiar and let joy be my compass - embracing slow travel and local discovery. From history to hidden gems, in the wild or around the table, I’ll share what the towns I visited inspired in me, and how each destination’s unique charm shaped my perspective on travel, creativity, and community.

If you’re into curated journeys and savouring the sweet life, Field Notes might be for you. Come along for the ride.

Do you know of a destination designed to inspire? If so, contact me - I’d love to add it to my travel list.
